The series of Icebreaker
guides published by No Manâs
Land are designed to help expatriates feel at home anywhere in France. The
books will help you understand how values, attitudes, and behaviour are
important for making the most of your stay in France both professionally
and socially.
Breaking the Ice
guides use a light-hearted approach to help bewildered, distressed and
not so distressed newcomers adjust to their new life in France . It is
the first time that guidebooks in English combine local information about
daily life in a French town (Grenoble, Lyon ) with hints for developing
intercultural skills. These companion-guides are packed with anecdotes,
how-to-do advice and tips to discover the history, culture and night-life
of the city, and the famed ãart de vivreä. The Icebreaker series
are also the first city-guides that take into account intercultural issues
and the different ways of behaving professionally and socially in order
to make friends with the locals, or even become ãmore French than
the Frenchä.
